R3 Sciences and the Hydrogen Engine Center (HEC) (Pink Sheet: HYEG) have entered into an MOU and are working on definitive agreements to form a marketing alliance between the two companies to develop the market for methanol powered generator assemblies. HEC is a leader in the development of methanol-powered engines. The OxxPower™ methanol-powered engine systems are advanced power packages. These systems, when used for emergency power backup and for primary support power provide a number of advantages for the customers. R3 Sciences is moving into the commercial production of methanol in the field, and will employ the OxxPower™ generators in this application, and provide additional power options to its customers.
Methanol-powered generators offer customers with a much cleaner burning exhaust stream when compared to traditional fuels such as diesel, gasoline and natural gas. The methanol offers operators a low freeze-point fuel option in a transportable, easily dispatched fuel. R3 Sciences is working with several large methanol sources to provide an effective fuel distribution grid across the U.S. and Canada, allowing traditional fuel distributors access to low cost fuel-grade methanol product to supply installations.
